Here’s a sneak peak at the most recently completed game soundtrack, Death by Game Show, by Oointah! Death by Game Show is a tower defense style game in which you use a multitude of weapons and strategies to conquer an ever increasing difficulty of droids that are out to kill our main character, the beloved and rotund U.H. Wutt. This game is truly a challenge at times, but is incredibly fun and addicting. The music represents that as well throughout the 7 part soundtrack, which goes through various styles from level to level. You can get a taste of the soundtrack here! These are 2 tracks used in Death by Game Show.
March has, by far, been the busiest month I’ve experienced yet, and it’s barely half way through! And it doesn’t look like it’s gonna slow down any time soon.
Here’s a run down of March thus far, for those keeping score at home:
Composed demo for “Game #1” from a development company in the Netherlands (and won the job!)
EPF
Composed the score for the Equine Pathfinders Foundation promotional video
Composed 4 tracks for “Game #2” from Minneapolis
Traveled down to TN to perform some jazz on live TV at an event to raise money for my former high school band
Arranged 13 horn section (alto, tpt, tbn) charts for a new band, Elnora’s Revival
Performed said horn parts with Elnora’s Revival
Note: UK basketball
(twice)
Composed a cue for an episode of Dagger Kiss
Composed the score for the intro to “Game #1”
And that’s only so far… still yet to be completed:
Perform again tonight with Elnora’s Revival (and not forget to wear green!)
Compose a cue for another episode of Dagger Kiss
Dagger Kiss
Compose 5 more tracks to complete the contract for “Game #2”
Put finishing production touches on music
for “Game #1”
Perform with The HGH Band on the 29th, and again on the 31st in Lexington
Perform with Elnora’s Revival at the Eastern KY Expo Center on the 2nd (okay that’s in April, but still)
Elnora’s Revival
WHEW!!!
I would be lying if I said it hasn’t been exhausting, but I’m excited to have as much work as I do! Bring it on!
Although, I may need to look into upping my coffee budget…
It’s always a treat to have the opportunity to work with people from across the globe, and this case is no exception. I have been asked to compose music to accompany a new promotional video for the Equine Pathfinders Foundation, based out of New Zealand. The staff at Dune Lake Lodge are working with horses to provide an environment where people struggling with any number of physical or mental afflictions can interact with each other, the Lodge, and the animals in order to cope with their own struggles and integrate fluidly with culture and society. It is an honor to collaborate with an organization with such a positive influence in the world.
“I’ve been blown away by the changes I’ve seen people go through in just half an hour with the horses following the steps the staff instruct when approaching, speaking to, and riding on the creatures. People leave Dune Lakes Lodge more comfortable with themselves and confident in their place alongside their peers.”
